Questions people ask
What is the price of a dal colour sorter?
Listed prices (October 2026): ₹6.5 to ₹7 lakh for mini dal sorters under 1 t/hr, ₹10.5 to ₹12 lakh for 2 to 3 t/hr, and about ₹29 lakh for 10 t/hr.
Can a rice sorter sort wheat or dal?
Usually yes, with new settings, because they are all small free-flowing grains. Large pulses such as kabuli chana may need a sorter with wider chute grooves.
What about wheat for flour mills?
Flour mills sort wheat before milling to remove ergot, stones, other grains and discoloured kernels. AMD's RC series and Bühler's SORTEX machines are common, and Indian makers build wheat sorters too.
