What drives the price

  • Chutes and channels. Each extra chute adds cameras, valves and capacity.
  • Cameras. Full-colour CCD or CMOS, both-side viewing, infrared and AI cost more.
  • Belt or chute. Belt sorters for nuts and dried fruit cost more than chute machines.
  • Steel and hygiene. Food-contact stainless steel and wash-down builds cost more.
  • Service. A dealer with engineers near you is worth paying for; a sorter that stops in season costs more than the price gap.

Prices are the seller's own listing on the date shown, usually without GST and freight. We do not sell machines and take nothing from sellers for listing a price.

Questions people ask

What is the price of a colour sorter machine in India?

Listed prices in October 2026 run from ₹6 lakh (1 chute, 64 channels) to ₹36 lakh (10-chute steam rice line), with belt nut sorters up to ₹48 lakh. Most listings exclude GST and freight.

What is the price of a rice colour sorter?

About ₹6 lakh to ₹9 lakh for 1 to 2 t/hr, ₹16 lakh for 4 t/hr, and ₹21 to ₹36 lakh for larger and parboiled-rice lines. See rice colour sorter.

Why is an imported sorter dearer?

European and Japanese sorters use more cameras, infrared and higher-resolution optics, and include import duty and a dealer's service. Chinese brands sit in between; many are sold in India through Indian dealers.

Does the price include installation?

Usually not. Ask for installation, an air compressor (sorters need clean, dry compressed air), training, and the first year's spare valves and filters in writing.

Is there a subsidy for colour sorters?

Colour sorters can be part of a project under PM-FME, PMKSY or state food-processing schemes. Rules change; check with your state nodal agency before you order.
